Vaccinations for Dogs and Cats

Vaccinations for Dogs

Lyme disease has been a growing issue in New Hampshire and we strongly recommend a vaccine for Lyme disease. Leptospirosis is a disease spread by wildlife and survives best in wetlands. Our community has an abundance of both, therefore this vaccine is recommended as well. Parvo virus is still an issue and we recommend a vaccine that has shown protection against newer strains of Parvo. Canine distemper, adenovirus, and parainfluenza are usually included with the above vaccines.

Rabies is a public health concern and is recommended in compliance with state laws.

Kennel Cough and Canine Influenza may be recommended depending on your dog’s social activities.

Upper respiratory diseases are still very common in kittens and elderly cats. A vaccine containing rhinotracheitis and calicivirus is recommended. The vaccine also contains panoleukopenia, which is called distemper.

Feline leukemia is a serious and eventually fatal disease without a cure. Prevention by vaccination is the best treatment.
